Kazakhstan: purchase prices for the 2026 wheat crop

The government has set purchase prices for 2026 grain: class 3 wheat at 92,000 to 115,000 tenge per tonne depending on quality, the same level as last year. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin announced this on September 30 at a meeting with farmers in Arkalyk.

Key figures

  • Class 3: ₸92–115k per tonne
  • Prices as in 2025
  • Forward and direct purchases
  • VAT refunds for exporters
  • Compensation for exporters

The Food Corporation's purchase prices serve as a benchmark for the market. Agricultural exporters will not face an adjustment of input VAT: after a positive audit, VAT will be refunded in full. The programme compensating grain exporters' costs will be extended to the 2026–2027 marketing year. Kazakh wheat is already bought by Belgium, Poland, Portugal, Norway, the United Kingdom, Morocco, Algeria and Egypt.
